Why Book An Engagement Session? ~ Engagement ~ Macphail Photography

Every now and then we get asked, " Why would we do engagement photos?" It's pretty simple really.... why not? We always suggest it to couples for a few reasons. First of all it will give you a beautiful selection of shots that you can use towards your wedding details (invitations, guest books, photo table number cards etc). More importantly though it gives you a chance to work with your photographer before your wedding day. It will get you used to the idea of being in front of the camera and give us an opportunity to connect and build more of a relationship with you making you feel a lot more at ease and relaxed on your wedding day. 

Here's a session we did at White Rock with Lyndsey and Chris. They're a gorgeous couple and a lot of fun to work with. A selection of their wedding photos are coming soon.

BT Throws A Wedding Contest is Underway!! Macphail Photography

Just in case you haven't heard already, the contest was announced yesterday morning on Breakfast Television Vancouver. Thanks to Zoey from It's My Wedding, we are very excited to be a part of this big event.

Starla & Jose's Wedding ~ Bellwether Hotel ~ Macphail Photography

Every now and then we actually get to attend a wedding. We had the pleasure of sitting down and attending my cousin Starla's wedding in Bellingham Washington. Of course I brought my camera along and even borrow the new married couple for a few shots in the middle of the day. They are such a beautiful couple I couldn't resist! BT Throws A Wedding Contest!! Macphail Photography

October 1st has finally arrived and we're officially aloud to announce that Breakfast Television (BT) is putting on a contest for one lucky couple to win a wedding. We were approached a few months back to see if we were interested in getting involved, and we did not hesitate one bit. We are the lucky photographers for this event! This is exciting! Who wouldn't want to win a free wedding???

Contest entries will be accepted starting Monday October 3rd till Friday October 14th. The wedding will be held on December 30th, 2011. For more details and a full list of all the vendors involved check out BT Throws A Wedding.

Fraser Valley Wedding Festival is coming up! Come see us there! Macphail Photography

This years Fraser Valley Wedding Festival is on Monday October 17th at the Coast Hotel & Convention Centre Cascades Casino Langley. Entrance is $5 with $1 being donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.  So come on out and get a few ideas for your upcoming wedding as well as raise money for a great cause! 
We were happy to help out with their visual press release again this year. So keep an eye out for a series of our shots in ads for the show!

Time to learn something new for Pin-Up Portraits! Macphail Photography, Langley BC

Photography is one of those industries where new styles, products and gear appear constantly. We like to stay in the loop and always learn new tips and tricks on editing techniques and building our studio success.  Last night we had the pleasure of attending another one of Sandy Puc's tours, with this one focusing on Pin-Ups... Pin-Up-A-Looza! 

Mike Long of Portland Pin-Ups put on a great live demonstration as well as many tips and tricks that we look forward to implementing in our studio. We had a great time at the Pin-Up conference!! Lots of new ideas brewing in my mind and I think we might have to do a test shoot or a model search soon to try out all the fun ideas.

Tessa & Justin's Big Day! Fraser Valley Wedding, Macphail Photography

This year we had the pleasure of being a part of the union of Tessa, Justin & little Ella. Their wedding was full of fun, laughter and adventure including a helicopter ride up to Bear Mountain for an amazing photo shoot of the couple I'll never forget! The Fraser River Lodge made for a beautiful setting for their wedding, and Alyssa & Nancy of Alyssa Short Design did an amazing job with the decor.  Here's a sneak peak of their wedding day.
